What changes at eighteen
You can still be paying tuition and carrying them on your insurance, and a hospital will not confirm whether they were admitted. A university will not discuss a medical withdrawal. A bank will not talk to you about their account.
None of that requires a court. It requires three signatures your student can give in an afternoon before they leave.
Written for a student, not a retiree
The powers are narrow and revocable. Your student stays in charge and can cancel any of it at any time — the documents exist for the phone call nobody plans for.
How you get it done
You answer plain-English questions online, at whatever hour suits you. Your documents are assembled from templates a Florida estate planning attorney wrote and keeps current. Then you sign, with witnessing and notarization handled online where Florida law allows it, and your documents are stored where your family can find them. If you want an attorney to look at your plan or handle it for you, that is available separately.
