Why a will on its own leaves a gap
A will speaks only after you die. It has nothing to say about the years in between, and the harder scenario for most families is not death — it is the stretch where someone is alive but unable to sign, decide, or explain what they want.
The Power 5 closes that gap. One document set handles both moments: who inherits, and who acts while you cannot.
What each of the five documents does
Each one covers a different failure point. Together they are the standard core plan.
Last Will and Testament — names who inherits what passes through your estate, appoints your personal representative, and nominates a guardian for minor children.
Durable Financial Power of Attorney — names an agent who can handle banking, property, tax and legal matters if you cannot, and stays effective after incapacity.
Healthcare Power of Attorney — names the person who makes medical decisions for you.
Living Will — your written instructions on life-prolonging procedures, artificial nutrition and hydration, and comfort care.
HIPAA Release — lets the people helping with your care actually see your medical information.
Personal Property Memorandum — a list of specific items and who should receive them, which you can update without redoing the will.
How you get it done
You answer plain-English questions online, at whatever hour suits you. Your documents are assembled from templates a Florida estate planning attorney wrote and keeps current. Then you sign, with witnessing and notarization handled online where Florida law allows it, and your documents are stored where your family can find them. If you want an attorney to look at your plan or handle it for you, that is available separately.
What's included
Last Will and Testament with beneficiary designations
Personal Representative appointment
Durable Financial Power of Attorney
Healthcare Power of Attorney
Living Will
HIPAA Release
Personal Property Memorandum
Attorney-written Florida templates
What it does not cover
A revocable living trust — that is the Legacy Trust Package
Deeds transferring real property — those are priced separately
Retirement accounts, pensions and life insurance with a named beneficiary, which pass by beneficiary form
Property owned jointly with right of survivorship, which passes to the surviving owner
Is this you?
If none of these quite fit, that is worth a conversation rather than a guess.
Anyone who has been meaning to get a will done and has never had powers of attorney
Couples who want each other named as agent, with contingent choices
Parents of minor children who need a guardianship nomination in writing
People whose estate is straightforward enough that probate avoidance is not the priority
$796 covers both spouses — two complete sets of the five documents, typically naming each other as agent and beneficiary with contingent choices. That is up to 30% combined savings against buying two single packages.
Is this different from a downloadable form?
The documents come from templates an estate planning attorney wrote and keeps current to Florida law, and you finish the whole thing online — signed, witnessed and notarized. A form site hands you an unsigned PDF and leaves the rest to you. If you want an attorney to review your plan or represent you, you can add that separately.
Do I still need a trust?
Not everyone does. A trust mainly buys probate avoidance and privacy. If those matter to you, or you own real property you would rather keep out of court, look at the Legacy Trust Package.
Can I sign without going to an office?
Florida allows wills to be signed, witnessed and notarized remotely. Online notary sessions are available as an added service.
Three ways forward.
