The roles that qualify for the discounted rate, what we ask you to send, and what happens after you apply.
Roles that qualify.
A discounted rate is available to people who qualify. The amount is confirmed in writing when we review your application, before you pay for anything.
A spouse or partner in the same household can be included on the same application, so both of you end up with matching documents.
- Classroom teachers in public, charter and private schools
- Paraprofessionals, aides and substitute teachers
- Counsellors, social workers, nurses and therapists employed by a school
- Principals, assistant principals and district administrators
- Bus drivers, food service, custodial and maintenance staff
- College and university faculty and staff
- Retired educators and school employees
- Anyone employed by a school, district, charter network or university qualifies — it is not limited to instructional staff.
- Early childhood and pre-K programs count.
What we ask you for.
We do not check these details automatically. Someone reads every application and may follow up by email if something is unclear.
Apply for the teachers / educators rate- Your work email address, or the email domain your employer uses
- The name of your department, agency, district or employer
- Your badge, unit or employee number, if you have one
- Your role, and whether you are active, retired, reserve or civilian staff
If you don't qualify.
These are discounted rates on the same plans anyone can buy. If your role isn't on the list, nothing is closed to you — the plans, the documents and the process are identical.
