Who qualifies for the Firefighter Estate Planning Program
Career or volunteer, active or retired, engine company or fire prevention, if you serve in the fire service, or did, this rate is for you.
Roles that qualify.
A discounted rate is available to people who qualify. The amount is confirmed in writing when we review your application, before you pay for anything.
A spouse or partner in the same household can be included on the same application, so both of you end up with matching documents.
- Career firefighters and engineers
- Volunteer and part-paid firefighters
- Fire officers, lieutenants, captains, battalion and district chiefs
- Fire inspectors, investigators and fire marshals
- Wildland and airport rescue firefighting personnel
- Fire department administrative and support staff
- Retired fire service personnel
- Volunteer departments qualify on the same terms as career departments.
- If you run a side business, contracting, inspections, training, say so on the form and we will point you at the right plan.
What we ask you for.
We do not check these details automatically. Someone reads every application and may follow up by email if something is unclear.
Apply for the firefighters rate- Your work email address, or the email domain your employer uses
- The name of your department
- Your department ID or unit number, if you have one
- Your role, and whether you are active, retired, reserve or civilian staff
If you don't qualify.
These are discounted rates on the same plans anyone can buy. If your role isn't on the list, a spouse outside the department, a friend on a department out of state, nothing is closed to you: the plans, the documents and the process are identical.
